"The Golden Man" is another so-so second season episode, filmed mostly on sets that were already standing on the Universal Studios lot. Although watchable, the basic premise of an alien race that was suggested in myth, and the further idea that some aliens age backwards are both old sci-fi concepts - so there's no much new here. Something else to note is that by this point in the second season, the new format had solidified - and was very reminscent of Star Trek. Dr. Goodfellow is now the ship's doctor, responsible for Sick Bay, and Paul Carr is now fully in place as the Helmsman -(a role this actor once actually played in Star Trek) Hawk and Buck are now the key players, acting much like Spock and Kirk, making first contact on new planets and employing fisticuffs when required. The reappearance of Buck Rogers alum Anthony James (who played Varek in "Plot to Kill a City") is a high point.
