Issue #1 or Not?
(From Issue #7 in the 25th Century Communications section:)
"In 1964 Gold Key Comics introduced a comic entitled Buck Rogers in the 25th Century. The first issue was, of course, number one. This comic book was based on the original Philip Nowlan, Dick Calkins comic strip from 1929, in terms of
artwork, character likenesses, and the situations and universe created by Mr. Nowlan. Unfortunately this series never got beyond the first book. It was discontinued after issue number one. Fifteen years later in June of 1979, Gold Key revived the title. This time all
of the above factors were based not on the original BUCK ROGERS strip, ut on the Universal film of the same name. Since we had already done an issue #1 (albeit 15 years earlier) we numbered the first issue in the new series, #2. The current series begins with the adaptation of the film (issues 2, 3, 4) and continues beyond. If you have
issue #2, then you have the first issue..."
